Lightning Talks by Future Economy Builders
Magenta Light, CEO of Bloom Network
Intro to the event & Bloom Network
Magenta will share a brief overview of what Bloom's social platform is and how its economic protocol works.
Manuel Maqueda, Circular Economy Innovator & Harvard Instructor
Designing Economies That Work Like Living Systems
Manuel has spent his career showing businesses, governments, and communities that the choice between profitability and planetary health is a false one. He teaches applied circular economics at Harvard and has built circular economy programs at UC Berkeley and UCLA Extension, working with organizations from Google to NASA to help them rethink how value moves through a system. He's also the co-founder of the Plastic Pollution Coalition and SUPER, a nonprofit helping companies eliminate single-use plastics. In this talk, Manuel will bring systems-level thinking down to the local level - what it looks like to design an economy that circulates instead of extracts, and how communities can start building that today.
More speakers to be announced soon.
