The Interlude: Soul Stories with Sophia Bromberg
R&B has always been a living mosaic—born from jazz, gospel, and blues, it carries the lineage of Black American storytelling while constantly reinventing itself through new voices and generations. The Interlude: Soul Stories continues that tradition with an evening of intimacy and reflection back at Alta Vina, featuring Bay Area native Sophia Bromberg.
Born and raised in San Francisco, Sophia Bromberg is a GRAMMY®-nominated singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose music bridges Pop, Neo-Soul, and R&B. After appearing on The Voice (Team Ariana, Season 21), Sophia began writing and producing her own music—earning a GRAMMY® nomination for “Best Song for Social Change.” Now a student at UC Berkeley, she continues to evolve as an artist, blending her studies, her creative process, and her sense of self into her work.
This year, Sophia has been creating a new body of music that embodies her artistic growth: raw, rhythmic, and unapologetically honest. Drawing inspiration from the intersection of neo-soul, jazz, and pop, her songs explore the power of embracing uncertainty, the complexity of femininity, and the beauty in growing up and finding your voice. Her upcoming releases—including new singles and EPs slated for next year—lean into storytelling, groove, and fearless authenticity.
Through songs like “Gentle Lady”—an ode to the divine feminine that balances strength, sensuality, and softness—Sophia invites listeners into her world of self-discovery, friendship, and becoming.
Come ready to listen deeply, feel freely, and find yourself reflected in the stories sung between each verse.

The Interlude, co-created by Ankita Bhanot and Ari Deng, is a concert series where music ties stories, spaces, and strangers together. We curate experiences that feel like a pause between the noise.
