About Event
"The Eight Gates" is the cinematic debut album by London-based drummer, composer, and bandleader LOX.
Released on June 26, 2026, through the Jazz Re:freshed label, the 8-track project blends modern jazz, classical, and anime influences.
The album’s conceptual framework is drawn from the Eight Gates concept in the hit anime series Naruto, which LOX used as a metaphor to explore perseverance, identity, and pushing past one's creative and personal limits.
It heavily features his roots on the steel pan, a personal instrument to his upbringing, while weaving energetic orchestral and jazz-fusion arrangements.
