FOR ENTREPRENEURS
Most pitch nights ask the audience to clap. PitchTank asks you to put capital behind your conviction. Over the course of one night you will evaluate six or more founders back to back, with about a minute to decide what each one is worth. Every portfolio in the room is public, which means by the end of the night you will know whether your read on early stage companies actually holds up. You will also be in the same room as operators, angels, and venture capitalists who are actively writing checks during Toronto Tech Week.

This is the rare opportunity to pitch to a room that is literally betting on you while you talk. The feedback is not polite nods or "interesting." It is a live market priced minute by minute on whether the room believes in you. What is PitchTank?
PitchTank is a pitch competition reimagined as a live stock market. Founders pitch on stage, their companies go public on the PitchTank app, and the audience trades them in real time using $1M in virtual capital. The founder with the highest market cap wins, and the audience traders with the sharpest portfolios top the leaderboard.
Is this for serious investors?
Yes, especially for serious investors. The format forces the question every investor asks: which of these founders would I actually back? You make that call live, against a room of people doing the same thing.
Is this an official Toronto Tech Week event?
Yes. PitchTank x TTW is co-hosted with AGIV, Amiral VC, and StartupFuel as part of Toronto Tech Week 2026.
Do I need investing experience?
No. The app is built for first time and experienced traders alike, although an investor lens tends to make for a sharper portfolio.
How does the trading work?
You receive $1M in virtual capital at check in. As each founder pitches, you can buy, sell, or hold their stock through the PitchTank app. Prices move based on what the room is doing, creating a live and crowd sourced read on each founder. Your portfolio value at the end of the night determines your spot on the leaderboard.
What do I bring?
A charged smartphone with the PitchTank app installed. Setup instructions will be sent to you after you register.
How are founders selected?
Each lineup is curated based on stage, traction, pitch readiness, and investability. Most founders are at or near a raise, which means the room is evaluating real, live opportunities. To apply, visit the PitchTank website or grab a founder ticket.
Can I just come to watch?
You can, but you will be the only one not playing. Every audience ticket comes with $1M in virtual capital and a spot on the leaderboard. There is no spectator mode, and the format only works if you are in.
When do doors open?
Doors open 30 minutes before the first pitch. Come early to grab food, set up your portfolio, and find your spot.
