FV + AI December: Fraser Valley AI Community Meetup
AI conversations should not require a drive into downtown Vancouver.
FV + AI is the Fraser Valley room in the BC + AI Ecosystem, carrying forward the people and momentum of the Surrey AI meetups. It is a local room for business owners, builders, practitioners, and curious neighbours to compare notes on how AI is actually showing up in their work and lives.
We meet the second Wednesday of every month at Coleman Technologies in Langley. Doors at 6:00 PM Pacific, wrapping up by 8:00 PM. Pizza on the table, a couple of short practical contributions, and enough room for everyone to speak.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A welcome from Darren Coleman, FV+AI's local lead • One or two short local use cases grounded in real work • An open roundtable about what people are trying and where they are stuck • Pizza, drinks, and unhurried conversation
You do not need to be an AI expert. If you are experimenting, asking questions, trying to make responsible decisions, or simply looking for a local group that talks about the work without drowning in hype, you belong in the room.
WHY FRASER VALLEY
The BC + AI community has built strong rooms in Vancouver, Surrey, Comox Valley, and beyond. FV+AI gives people from Langley through Abbotsford and Chilliwack a closer home base, connected to the provincial network and shaped by local people.
The room opened in September with about thirty people, from a high school student to a professor with thirty years in AI. What we cover each month comes from what the room asks for.
ABOUT FV + AI
FV+AI (Fraser Valley AI) is an official regional community within the BC + AI Ecosystem Association. Darren Coleman is the local organizer. Kris Krüg and the BC + AI community support the chapter, and Matthew Schwartzman and the Surrey AI community are part of the story that made it possible.

Community tickets are CA$20; BC + AI Members attend free with registration approval • Exact arrival and parking details will be sent to registered guests • Photos and notes are consent-first, with clear opt-out paths • This is a community gathering, not a vendor pitch
