​🌿🌱Join Us at Freedom Community Clinic's Ancestral Healing Farm for an enriching volunteering opportunity on April 30.

​It wasn’t enough to only see our lovely volunteers once a month! Beginning April 30th the FCC Ancestral Healing Farm team will be hosting bi weekly volunteer hours! Come by every other Thursday to get your hands in the soil, enjoy the sun, and be a collaborator in this gorgeous space! During these volunteer hours you will be able to participate in a variety of farm activities including:

• ​Planting seedlings

• ​Saving seeds

• ​Weeding

• ​Harvesting

• ​Preping Beds

​Please bring water bottles, hates, and sunscreen! If you have gloves please bring them if not they can be provided for you.

​Workday Details:
Date: Saturday, April 30th
Time: 10:00AM-12:00PM
Location: 1000 Fish Ranch Road, Orinda CA 94563

​What to Bring:

• ​Comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting dirty ( Be mindful of the weather that morning!)

• ​Sturdy, closed-toe shoes

• ​Hat, gloves, and sunscreen

• ​Water bottle

• ​(Optional) Personal gardening tools if you prefer to use your own

​We’ll provide tools and guidance on-site. Please arrive on time so we can begin with a brief orientation and safety overview.

​Please come prepared with comfortable outdoor work clothes, sturdy shoes, food/snacks, sunscreen, and a water bottle. We look forward to having you with us for a day of community and connection with the land.

​🍃 About Our Ancestral Healing Farm

​Our Ancestral Healing Farm Sanctuary is a 1/2 acre sanctuary located 10 min from downtown Oakland, dedicated to the cultural preservation and cultivation of medicines of the global diaspora. The Ancestral Healing Farm Sanctuary restores healing connection and medicinal relationship to the land for Black, Brown, and immigrant people of the Bay Area. We believe healing must be coupled with ecological justice and land-based sovereignty in order to further restore the health and healing of our communities that are constantly exposed to racism, trauma, and violence.

​​​​In all our offerings, we prioritize Black, Brown, Indigenous and Immigrant community members and ask that allies be mindful of the space and resources they take up when visiting and signing up for offerings.

​Camille Braswell is a queer Black farmer that loves everything soil, seeds, and human - plant relations. When not at the Ancestral Healing Farm you can find them dancing, playing with natural dyes, cooking for friends, and participating in prescribed and cultural burns.​​

​​​​🫂 Accessibility

​​​​The Ancestral Healing Farm is not wheelchair or mobility aid accessible at this time. There are many non human kin in this space including snakes and ticks.

​Note on ticks - there are ticks at the Ancestral Healing Farm. We recommend that you wear socks, pants, and light colored clothing to see them more easily. We also highly recommend that you do a tick check once you leave the farm.

​Note on rattlesnakes - there are rattlesnakes at the Ancestral Healing Farm. Farm co-coordinators will provide on-site guidance on best practices and shift working areas if needed to ensure optimal safety.
