​Carlos Rodriguez joins the Collaboration City Founding Residents and the Real Mamas community for a conversation and recorded podcast about his work investigating and preventing crimes against children. Discussion will draw on his career in child-exploitation investigation and human trafficking prevention.

​Bio:
Carlos Rodriguez is the author of The Ugly Underneath, a firsthand account of the emotional toll of investigating crimes against children. A former crimes-against-children detective sergeant and FBI Task Force Officer, he retired from the Washington State Patrol after 27 years of service. He led WSP's Missing and Exploited Children Task Force, where he developed proactive investigative operations targeting the sexual exploitation of children, operations that have been nationally modeled and replicated across the country. He currently serves as an investigator with the San Diego Unified School District, where he is part of the team building and running the district's human trafficking prevention program. A nationally recognized subject matter expert, Carlos presents at national and international conferences and volunteers with the International Association of Human Trafficking Investigators (IAHTI).
