Body as Protest: A Block Printing Workshop
This is a block printing workshop where carving and printing become a way to reclaim the body —
to let it speak again. ✂️🖨️
——
They measure me with their gaze,
price me with their systems,
define me with their language.
When I bend my body,
my spine becomes a folded sentence —
each bone reciting the commands I once obeyed.
The body has been divided by medicine, religion, law, and art
into understandable parts — the “correct” proportions,
the “proper” posture, the “appropriate” silence.
But when we use our hands as pens and our skin as paper,
the body begins to speak. 🫀

About the Workshop |
In this workshop, we do not pursue beauty or correctness as defined by others.
Through texture, touch, hair, lines, scent, and breath,
we ask: Can we redefine what it means to exist?
You don’t need to know how to draw.
Bring your body — it already knows how to create. 🌫️
Through tracing, pressing, misprinting, and layering,
shapes shift, blur, and drift.
Mistakes become openings; misalignment becomes a coordinate toward freedom. 🗺️

I rise again,
my body still trembles,
but it is no longer ashamed.
I find a homeland within myself —
a place made of touch, folds, and breath.
