Community Climate Action Day - Volunteer Projects
San Diego Community Climate Action Day is a day dedicated to hands‑on service, healthier communities, greener spaces, and meaningful climate action. These service days combine the forces of the California Service Corps, local community partners, leaders, nonprofits, elected officials and hundreds of volunteers in a powerful day of service.
The event will kick off together at the Rancho Los Peñasquitos Ranch House before volunteers head out to service projects throughout the Preserve.
Volunteers will serve at 1 of 14 volunteer projects in Los Peñasquitos Park. Activities include planting, mulching, weeding, invasive species removing, and other urban greening activities, you will be assigned a project at the event
After completing service projects, volunteers are invited to return for:
• Lunch provided for event‑day volunteers
• An official event T‑shirt
• A family‑friendly Wellness & Climate Action Resource Fair
• Opportunities to discover parks, trails, volunteer programs, and community resources
• Activities celebrating nature, wellness, and climate action
This opportunity is made possible through partnerships at the state and local level, including California Climate Action Corps, a program of California Volunteers, The County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation, Nature Unplugged, and San Diego Climate Week. All volunteers will join the Climate Action Counts campaign to stay connected on future opportunities to stay engaged in this important work.
