​Stakeholder Sensemaking & Future-Framing Workshop: The Future of Artificial Sentience

​What could emerging developments in artificial sentience mean for different people, institutions, industries, and communities with a stake in its future?

​This workshop brings together stakeholders interested in the future of artificial sentience to collectively explore how emerging signals and drivers of change could affect their interests, create potential disruptions, and shape the questions we need to ask about the future.

​We will bring a synthesized set of signals and drivers of change into the session and use them as a starting point for stakeholder sensemaking.

​What we will do

• ​Explore emerging signals: Examine developments that could create new conditions for artificial or hybrid sentience.

• ​Stakeholder breakout: Interrogate these developments from different stakeholder positions and interests.

• ​Surface implications: Identify potential disruptions, impacts, concerns, opportunities, and questions that these developments raise.

• ​Frame the future: Use these perspectives to help establish the frames through which the future of sentience should be explored.

​This is a participatory foresight workshop. You do not need to be an expert in artificial sentience or futures research. What matters is having a perspective, interest, or potential stake in how this future could unfold.
