About Event

We resist emotions by distorting our attention and awareness. Emotional surfing is a meditation technique that allows us to relax those distortions and find clarity and alignment.

This technique provides provides relief for those moments when:

* You’re distracting yourself with unimportant tasks

* You can’t stop thinking about an argument you had

* You’re reacting from anger

* You’re worrying about an upcoming event

* You’re numbing out on your phone or addiction of choice

Side effects include:

* Joy

* Engagement with life

* Feeling like you’re tripping but you haven’t taken anything

* Sobbing that feels painful and amazing at the same time

This Emotional Surfing class is like personal training for feeling your emotions. You’ll work with emotions arising in your life and learn how to meet and feel them in a way that lets them digest.

A personal trainer can help you discover when you’re using the ‘wrong’ muscles for an exercise, and can help you feel what it feels like to use the muscles that you aren’t yet used to using. In this workshop, you’ll get targeted feedback on the muscles of attention you’re using when you’re feeling your emotions, and be given some experiments to try that may make your relationship with your emotions more easeful.

Be prepared to bring current situations from your life that bring up challenging emotions to practice with.
