​Moving between German fairy-tale films and contemporary Taiwanese cinema, this lecture explores how folktales continue to take on new meanings through adaptation. Familiar plots and motifs are not simply repeated. They are reshaped through new media, storytellers, and cultural contexts.

​The lecture invites audiences to consider what familiar stories can still reveal about human nature and the realities of the present.

​Lecturer Info:
Yang Yu-Chiao 楊雨樵 is a narrative and sound artist researching the narratology of oral literature. He combines storytelling, vocal performance, extended oral techniques, and blackboard writing to create experimental audiovisual works focused on onomatopoeia, ideophones, and auditory literature. His work has been presented across Europe and Asia, and he teaches at Weiwuying.
