Three of UT’s commercialization programs, one table. Drop in with a question and leave knowing how to take advantage of key UT resources (and a satisfied sweet tooth).
Cory Lago (Proof of Concept), Anna-Maria Escherich (I-Corps) and Ian Howard (SBIR/STTR) will answer questions and give overviews of the following programs:
Proof of Concept (POC): UT’s internal award for moving a discovery toward commercial readiness. Applications open September 7 and close October 12.
I-Corps: customer-discovery training to test whether a market exists before you build.
SBIR/STTR: federal grants that fund early R&D at your company without taking equity.
Who this is for: UT faculty, postdocs, grad students and startup teams considering commercializing their research. You don’t need a company, a patent, or a finished pitch — a project and a question are enough.
