I'M THE STORY,
Session 1: Own Your Story
Sat, 22 August · 6:30 PM · ALX Maadi (online and in-person)
Kicking off "I AM THE STORY," our first session is about finding the one story you actually want to tell — not a highlight reel, not a résumé, but a real moment from your journey, achievement, or transformation that's worth sharing in your own words.
This session is led by Amr Tawfeeq — Writer, and Content Lead & Strategist at Persona Gurus. Amr has shaped the narratives of over 100 brands, helping them "breathe the same air as their audience." He's also the author of several literary works, including the poetry collection "همس وصرخات" (Whispers and Screams). As he puts it: "I write people, not copies or content pieces — this is how I see my work."

In this session, you'll work through your own Achievement Story Bank and leave with one structured story, built start to finish — the raw material for the piece you'll eventually publish.
About I AM THE STORY
This session is one part of a bigger four-week ALX community campaign called I AM THE STORY (#IAMTHESTORY_ALX), running from 15 August to 15 September. It's built on a simple belief: before we ask you to create anything, we want to give you something worth creating from.
Across four practical sessions, you'll build the skills to find your story, shape how you present yourself, capture it well, and turn your visibility into real opportunities:
Own Your Story — Sat, 22 Aug
Brand Your Value — Sat, 29 Aug
Shoot Your Story — Sat, 5 Sep
Turn Visibility Into Opportunity — Sat, 12 Sep
You don't need to attend all four — each session alone can give you what you need to produce one valid, publishable story.
How to participate:
Attend a session (or more) — online or in person at ALX Maadi.
Create your story and publish it publicly, in your own words.
That's it — one valid, publicly published story is what makes you an official contributor to the campaign.
What you unlock: a professional headshot, a place on the physical Community Wall — 200 people, 200 stories — and one entry into the Africa-wide GoPro draw.
