Make It Sewcial: Layering Cardigan/Jacket
Self draft a "free size" layering piece inspired by cardigans, bog coats, and Japanese kimono.
A great item to make for yourself or gift to someone deserving of something handmade. We'll be playing with length but using a simplified construction and silhouette to knock it out in a shorter session. If you're looking for a gateway into outerwear and jackets, this is a project worth exploring. Also a perfect garment to practice finishing flowy and lightweight (read: persnickety) fabrics like lace and silk. Heck we might even upcycle a sari, finally!
Beginner friendly garment sewing workshop led by amateur sewist and costumer, @_ipsheeta. The goal of these workshops is to build confidence in sewing with varying perspectives on finishing 😁
Sewing supplies provided including pattern, fabric, thread, and needles. Machines available for shared use and you're welcome to bring your own (even if you're not an expert at using it yet!).
What you bring? A can-do, willing to frog (rip it, rip it), and silly attitude. Snacks and beverages available, feel free to bring your own to share!

2-3pm: Transfer, Marking, & Cutting
3-4pm: Assembly & Finishing!
Fabric options include cottons, jerseys, and lightweights (solids and prints). Feel free to bring something thrifted or repurposed! You'll learn to adjust and fix mistakes along the way!
