​At Figuring Shit Out, we put on events for Founders who don't normally go to events. We didn't believe Manila needed another panel, fireside chat or Q&A so we did the radical step of asking speakers think ahead of time about what they wanted to say. Beyond palatable food & hopefully more than palatable networking, why schlep across town to sit in a cramped room for an hour: Perspective!

​What do you do when you keep finding yourself in rooms, industries, and systems where you don’t speak the language? How do you break in through systems you didn’t build, figure out how it works, and actually get things done?

​Niña Terol-Aquino has spent 27 years moving across journalism, activism, government, startups, venture building, and sustainability — learning the language of each new world, building trust, and finding ways to make things work differently from within.

​In this talk, she shares the war stories behind becoming a “polyglot” founder: how to break into unfamiliar circles, build bridges across differences, and create change without losing yourself in the process.
