About Event

Learn to sketch in an offbeat limited color palette which strays from literal representation, highlights a focal point and cultivates a mood.

This workshop begins with a primer in color theory, and then delves into a particular color relationship: split complementary. Using just three hues, students will learn to harness both strong contrasts and harmonious neutrals in a single image, creating both structure and subtlety in their sketch.

Students may use watercolors or mixed media. This is an ideal workshop for intermediate sketchers: those already familiar with shape, value, and how to draw on location.

Tickets are priced on a sliding scale - pay what you are comfortable with. There is a youth discount for folks under 22 years old. The group will be no larger than 12 people. The workshop will take place outdoors, barring severe inclement weather.
