Sacred Becoming - Work in Progress Showing

​Activation Arts Production presents: Sacred Becoming by Onyx Dance Co

​You’re invited to experience a work-in-progress showing of Sacred Becoming, directed by Amber Julian. This is an evolving performance by Onyx Dance Co exploring Black femme vulnerability, grief, joy, inner child healing, and reclamation.

​Rooted in Black dance, ritual, somatic practice, and live music, Sacred Becoming asks what becomes possible when Black femmes are given space to move beyond survival and return to softness, play, memory, and wholeness. The work considers the ways resilience can become both a source of strength and an expectation, while creating room for emotional complexity, ancestral connection, and transformation.

​This intimate showing offers a glimpse into the creative process as the company develops choreography, musical collaboration, and embodied storytelling.

​Sacred Becoming is both a performance and an ongoing inquiry into what it means to reclaim joy, tend to the inner child, and imagine new possibilities for being.
