Co-Learning AI Lab parents of younger tweens/teens (11-14)
Want to understand what AI looks like in your 11 to 14 year old's world without becoming an AI expert?
This small, hands-on Co-Learning AI Lab is for parents and caregivers of tweens and young teens. Together we'll look at where AI is already showing up in their lives, try the tools they're using, set guardrails that fit your family, and practice the conversations that are hard to start cold.
What we'll do
You'll spend most of the 90 minutes with your hands on the tools, with Julie there to guide the conversation, offer prompts to try, troubleshoot, and learn alongside you.
We'll map where AI shows up for this age group: homework and study help, search results, image and video generation, companion chatbots, and the apps they're already on. Then we'll practice the three moves that change how this goes at home. Co-learn, co-create, connect.
We'll also talk about where AI falls short, when to say no, and the questions none of us have clean answers to yet.
Who it's for
Parents and caregivers of kids roughly 11 to 14. You do not need to be "good at AI." You might use ChatGPT daily, have tried it twice, or still be wondering what the fuss is about.
Bring your laptop, your questions, and one thing about your kid and AI that you're curious or worried about.
Why only 20 parents?
Because it's a Lab. Small enough that everyone gets room to try things, ask the question they're embarrassed to ask, compare notes, and get individual help.
What you'll leave with
A clearer picture of what your kid is actually seeing, guardrails you chose on purpose instead of by default, and 2 or 3 things you can do with them this week.
