GROUNDED: An Earth Day Networking & Dance Party
GROUNDED is an Earth Day celebration during of SF Climate Week paying tribute to the earth and all it bears in shaping Black and Brown joy.
GROUNDED honors the interlinked nature of the sustainable practices embedded in Black and Brown musical traditions and the dance movements which root us.
Experience rhythms from the diasporas—Afro House, Amapiano, Afro Desi, Indo House, Soca, Dancehall, Reggaeton, Hip Hop, and R&B—and together we'll let the drumbeats that have sustained our communities for generations allow you to reconnect with your body and serve as a reminder that joy and sustainability are intertwined.
Come. Get GROUNDED.
Schedule:
6pm - 8pm: Facilitated networking for climate and sustainable professionals with music to facilitate connection and conversation.
8pm - 12am: Music will turn up and the lights will turn down so we can dance the night away!
