Past, Present, and Future Along the Bay

​Waterfront history, vibrant art, delicious treats, and beautiful green spaces: this walk has it all. Explore Dogpatch and its changing shoreline along with Safer Illinois, Sierra Club, and a few special guests along the way. Highlights include Bayfront Park, Crane Cove, Esprit Park, and neighborhood gathering places like Woods Yard and MinneSLOWta. Together, we’ll discover traces of the waterfront’s past, celebrate the places that bring people together today, and imagine a future with safer streets and a greener, more connected Bay. We’ll also hear Safer Illinois’s vision for a safer, more vibrant Illinois Street and explore the possibility of transforming one side of Cargo Way into a car-free space for walking, biking, and gathering. Our 4-mile route follows portions of the Roundabout, Big Art Loop, Blue Greenway, and Bay Trail. Offered through Walktober 2026.
