About Event

Hey guys, if you missed our tour on south Asian art, we are hosting another one. We’ll travel to the Indian subcontinent to explore pre-Islamic art from across South Asia. Together, we’ll examine the tension between plenitude and emptiness—between rich ornamentation and spiritual transcendence.

We’ll journey through the Stone Galleries, Imperial Galleries, and Lithography Rooms while asking how the birthplace of Buddhism came to produce some of the most elaborate and highly ornamented works of its time.

The program will include three 30-minute conversations, with participants divided into groups of 3–4 for each session. Through structured prompts and brief introductions before each conversation, participants will be invited to engage with the artworks through philosophical reflection and personal interpretation.
