The Campus Catalyst
⚡ Announcing "The campus catalyst" — the launch of a new event series to supercharge the life science ecosystem in Southwest Germany!
Join us as we bridge and connect the region's most innovative minds. This launch event is designed to bring together key stakeholders, visionary start-ups, and life science enthusiasts for an evening of powerful networking and high-level insights.
We're thrilled to host this event at BioLabs in Heidelberg, the premier launchpad for life science innovators, designed to empower and grow the next generation of biotech.
The centerpiece of the evening will be our exclusive panel discussion: "It takes a village..."
This discussion will explore the vital collaborations needed to turn breakthrough science into real-world impact. We are honored to feature true industry heavyweights:
▪️ Dr. Nicole Hecht: Representing one of Germany`s strongest Biotech hubs BioRN. As a key driver of communication and events for the cluster, Nicole is a central figure in weaving the network that supports our region's scientific and entrepreneurial talent.
▪️Prof. Heinz Hänel: Prof. Hänel was instrumental in the fight against the African sleeping sickness, leading the development of Fexinidazole, the first all-oral treatment. His work has contributed to three separate drugs achieving FDA approval. From his past role as global project director of Sanofi or these days in his current position as Chief Development Officer of Oxy5 OncoMedical AG, he has seen it all!
▪️ Edward Holson: CSO from Anavo Therapeutics. As a serial entrepreneur in the life sciences with over two decades of experience, he gathered invaluable experiences how to build companies from the ground up. In his current role, he pushes the boundary on what was considered undruggable by unlocking phosphatases as a target class!
▪️Ksenia Burka: Co-Founder and CEO of Reactosome, the synthetic nucleus company, enabling safer gene therapies! After participating in the *Nucleate* activator and winning one-year free lab space at BioLabs here in Heidelberg, Reactosome now expanded into the San Francisco Bay area. You want to know how the southwest of Germany compares to one of the most developed ecosystems in the world? Then don`t miss out on her perspective!
▪️ Johanna Michielin: Regional Director Europe of BioLabs. As Nucleate we are not only lucky to call BioLabs a major strategic partner because of the #goldenTicket, we can offer to our activator cohort members, or because of the beautiful venue for this event series! BioLabs has also supported over 500 life science start-ups and has unmatched experiences about what it takes to succeed in the life-sciences!
