Indonesia faces real challenges these days, from climate, disasters, energy, and the economy. What can we build with AI to help Indonesia cope, recover, and thrive?
AI for Indonesia is a one-day, in-person community hackathon bringing together developers, founders, designers, students, and domain experts to turn real-world problems into working AI prototypes.
Teams will choose a concrete problem, work with relevant data, and build a practical solution in a single day. The focus is on useful, responsible AI—not just demos for the sake of demos.
The challenge

Track 1 — People and Community
Climate and environment — Wildfires, air quality, pollution, waste management
Disaster prevention and response — Early warnings, emergency coordination, disaster recovery
Healthcare access — Health information, access to care, healthcare navigation
Education access — Personalized learning, tutoring, learning resources
Public services and civic technology — Access to public information, navigating government services, community reporting
Accessibility and inclusion — Assistive technology, language accessibility, tools for underserved communities
Food security and community resilience — Food distribution, local supply coordination, community resource matching
Everyday safety and well-being — Scam awareness, personal safety information, access to trusted resources
Track 2 — Economy and Business
Scam and fraud protection — Detecting suspicious messages, transactions, and online activity
Financial inclusion and literacy — Accessible financial education, budgeting, financial navigation
Agriculture and food systems — Crop insights, market prices, supply-chain visibility
Small business productivity — Automating repetitive tasks, customer support, business operations
Market access and commerce — Helping SMEs reach customers, discover demand, improve sales
Energy planning and efficiency — Energy use forecasting, cost optimization for small businesses
Employment and workforce development — Skills matching, career navigation, workforce training
Economic information and decision support — Making complex market, financial, or business information easier to understand
Teams will work from a curated set of problem statements with data sources to help them build something tangible in one day.

Who should join?
Developers, AI engineers, startup founders, product builders, designers, students, researchers, and domain experts who want to use AI to solve real problems.
You can apply solo or with a team of up to four people. Solo applicants can be matched with other builders.
