Summaeverythang Community Center presents Architects of Sound!
Architects of Sound is a six-week music production intensive for teens from South Central Los Angeles — and it ends on the stage of the Hollywood Bowl.
Created by Summaeverythang Community Center (SCC) in partnership with Girls Make Beats and Heart of LA, the program puts professional music-making tools, expert mentorship, and a real recording studio in the hands of 10–20 young people ages 14–19. Over six weeks, participants build original beats, write and record their own lyrics, develop their sound and identity as an artist, and learn what it means to move through the music industry on their own terms.
The program culminates at Lauren Halsey's Emajendat festival at the Hollywood Bowl, where students' original sonic architecture plays for thousands of attendees — pre-show and post-show. They don't just attend the Bowl. They earn it.
Architects of Sound is rooted in the belief that South Central youth don't need an audience. They need a studio, a mentor, and a stage — and the knowledge that everything they create is theirs.
This program is for South Central teens who want to learn music production, write their own lyrics, record in a professional studio, and build a real identity as an artist. It ends at the Hollywood Bowl — where your music will play for thousands of people at Lauren Halsey's Emajendat festival.
