Mobilising New Sources of Capital for Energy Transitions in Africa and Other LMICs
Mobilising new sources of capital is essential to accelerating clean energy transitions in Africa and other low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Despite growing investment needs, declining development finance, high borrowing costs, and geopolitical uncertainty continue to constrain progress.
Hosted by Clean Air Task Force, in partnership with Climate Compatible Growth, Imperial College London, and CETEx at the London School of Economics, this panel discussion will bring together public and private sector stakeholders to explore innovative financing approaches, assess progress on international climate finance commitments, and identify opportunities to mobilise investment at scale.
The discussion will highlight emerging best practices, priority partnerships, and actionable steps to overcome financing barriers, strengthen cross-regional collaboration, and inform the climate finance agenda leading into COP32.
