What happens when participation—not observation—becomes the artwork?
Wildcard is a free, one-day participatory art experience created by Birmingham-based artist Carey Fountain and Vibes & Virtues. Drop in anytime between 4:00 and 8:00 PM to help unlock 13 hand-painted puzzle pieces through music, prompts, conversation, and collective problem-solving. Each completed theme moves the room closer to the final reveal. Complete or incomplete, the image reflects what everyone built together.
WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE
Hand-painted puzzle pieces connected to social and cultural themes
Anonymous prompts and conversation added to the growing Wildcard Cultural Archive
Vibe Tokens—a developing local exchange designed to direct attention and spending toward artists, small businesses, and vendors
A live “Fright to Vote” performance showing the work’s evolution from song to painting to interactive interpretation
A shared final reveal before the activation closes

ABOUT THE ARTIST Carey Fountain is a Birmingham-based artist and founder of Vibes & Virtues. His work combines music, visual art, gameplay, and facilitated participation to strengthen human connection and invite communities to build meaning together.
