About Event
NEP-639 introduces Dynamic Resharding: a protocol-level mechanism that enables NEAR to automatically split shards based on their state size, without requiring a protocol upgrade. This replaces the static approach from Resharding V2 (NEP-508) and V3 (NEP-568), where shard layout changes were hardcoded into specific protocol versions and required coordinated binary releases.
The NEP author, Wiezzel, will present an overview of the proposal, followed by the SME reviewers sharing their technical analysis. The session will close with a community Q&A and the Protocol Working Group vote.
