HackAotearoa Wānaka: Co-working for startup builders
Queenstown & Wānaka, it's your turn.
A free day to work on your own projects, alongside other people doing the same.
Sometimes you just need to set aside the time to get things done.
HackAotearoa brings people together for a day of focused work on their own projects. You might be working on a business idea, running a business, freelancing, writing, or chipping away at something outside your usual working hours.
Despite the name, this isn't a traditional hackathon. There are no competitions, set challenges or teams to join. Bring your laptop and work on whatever matters to you.
You can spend the day focused on your own work, chat with others or ask for feedback when you need it. There's no expectation to pitch your idea or present your progress.
What to expect on the day
10am | Arrive and get settled
Turn up, find a desk, connect to the wifi and get started on your work.
10:30am | Quick introductions
Share your name, what you're working on and anything you could use a hand with. You can also add yourself to the board to share what you're stuck on or what you're happy to help with.
The rest of the morning | Work your way
Focus on your own projects, chat with others or ask for another perspective. Working quietly on your own is just as welcome as getting input from the people around you.
Around midday | Optional lunch
Join others for lunch if you'd like to.
3:30pm | Optional show-and-tell
Share what you've been working on if you want to. There's no pressure to present, and listening in is fine too.
4pm | Wrap up
What to bring
Your laptop, charger and something you'd like to make progress on.
There's nothing to prepare, and attendance is free.
Hosted by Logic1 and Startup Queenstown Lakes as part of HackAotearoa.
