VIBE Check
VIBE CHECK is HEC VIBE’s new monthly-ish creative + builder hangout: a low-pressure space to work on something that actually matters to you, get real-time feedback, and meet people outside your usual circles.
UPDTATE FEB 9TH: we are very excited to welcome a keynote speaker to our event starting at 6pm. Louis Debusschere the founder of Wispra will be kicking off our VIBE Check with an informative Q&A hosted by our president, Leo, on what it takes to get your startup going!
How the evening works:
6:00–7:30 PM — Creation Sprint
Bring anything you’re building or creating:
a startup idea or MVP
a vibe-coded app
a Substack piece or essay
a design, deck, or brand concept
a research project
a drawing, poem, or creative experiment
As long as you’re making something and it means something to you, it belongs here.
You’ll work independently (or quietly with others), and for those curious about vibe coding, our resident experts will be around to give advice, troubleshoot, and hack with you.
7:30–8:15 PM — Crit Session
We’ll do a short, informal crit (critique) session.
If you’ve never done a crit before: it’s a short show and tell style presentation where you share your process and ideas with others and get feedback in real time or just a huge round of applause.
It’s simply:
you share what you’re working on
talk through your thinking + process
say what kind of feedback you want
get thoughtful, constructive input from the room
It’s about learning in public, iterating faster, and getting unstuck together.
8:15–9:00 PM — Social Hour
We’ll wrap with chill vibes, fun snacks, and hanging out.
It’s a super easy way to meet people you wouldn’t normally talk to in class or at parties: builders, creatives, founders, writers, designers, thinkers, etc.
Why come?
Because some of the best ideas start as half-baked thoughts shared in the right room.
And because HEC needs more spaces that feel like a creative studio, not a networking event. :-)
