About the HEC Global Impact Community (HEC GIC) and its Africa Chapter:
HEC GIC is an initiative led by HEC graduates whose goal is to connect and match changemakers across continents involved in impact, an ambitious positive transformation along a social, environmental, and/or governance axis. Our “changemakers” include entrepreneurs, investors, sustainability and CSR executives, intrapreneurs, career shifters, academics, policy shapers, public leaders, consultants, and advisors.
Inspired by the definition of “impact” developed by the Global Impact investing Network (GIIN), our definition of “impact" is guided by three key principles:
Intentionality — Leaders and entrepreneurs have genuine, sincere beliefs and commitment to a social, environmental, or governance mission
Additionality — There is a positive contribution to the mission
Measurement — Companies or other responsible parties commit to measuring and tracking this contribution
HEC GIC works in close collaboration with HEC Transition, the HEC Alumni club putting planetary boundaries at the heart of business redesign. HEC GIC is embodied through bioregional chapters, such as the Africa Impact Community, to facilitate regional connections and through a networking database and online communications tools to facilitate global connections.
