Mistral AI Meetup Copenhagen

​Mistral is still early in Denmark. There is no established community yet, and that is what we're trying to plant a seed for. We're gathering some of the few start-ups here that actually use Mistral in practice for an evening about European AI: people who have Mistral as one of the building blocks in their product, and the framework around it: open models, digital sovereignty, GDPR and compliance.

​The speakers

• ​Michael Birkebæk Jensen & Kristian Thorsted Madsen (DemAI/Parl8.eu): AI for democratic transparency in the European Parliament, with Mistral in the product. Recently accepted into Innofounder.

• ​Lina Hajjar (MathAI.dk): GDPR-compliant AI math tutor for Danish schools, built on Mistral. Recipient of a Global Recognition Award.

• ​Tim Krarup Nielsen (HortenDahl): Our wildcard speaker. An experienced speaker who makes legal terms easy to grasp: why we talk about data in the EU at all, GDPR and sovereignty.

• ​Vice Rončević Bruun (Calibras): 100% EU-hosted AI for industry, defense and life science, using one of Mistral's small models. Recent winner of TechBBQ's North Star competition.

​Each talk is followed by Q&A, and we encourage you to ask questions.

​Practicalities

• ​Parking: free in the parking garage under AP Huset. Street parking is at your own expense.

• ​Metro: the nearest stop is Orientkaj.

• ​Check-in is by scanning your Luma QR code at arrival. Please open it on your phone before you arrive (in the Luma app or your Luma confirmation email), so check-in goes quickly. Doors open at 16:00, so you are welcome to arrive early and start networking. Please be seated before 17:00.

​Setting expectations
Danish maturity with Mistral is currently mostly about using it inside a product, not building the product on it, where the largest models are still stronger. We won't go deep on model comparisons, but the speakers are happy to share their experiences during Q&A or networking. If you're curious about Mistral as a chat/cowork alternative to Claude, Copilot or ChatGPT, that may be a topic for a future Meetup.
