SciCon 2026: Advancing the Scientific Enterprise
Hosted by ResearchHub Foundation
5th Annual Conference | [Invite Only]
Keynote: Jay Bhattacharya, MD, PhD, Director, National Institutes of Health
Three questions are being asked across the scientific enterprise: how research gets funded, how it gets evaluated and replicated, and how AI changes both. Federal agencies are examining them. Private foundations are testing new approaches. Frontier research labs are building tools that shift what a research cycle looks like.
What is SciCon?
SciCon is ResearchHub Foundation's annual conference on how science gets funded, evaluated, and shared.
It is deliberately selective. Roughly 100 people, each invited individually, spanning prominent scientists, foundation executives, federal science agencies, heads of institutes, founders from frontier AI labs, and R&D leads from drug companies. The format favors conversation over broadcast: short talks, moderated panels, and a long reception to close.
2026 Themes
New funding mechanisms, including endowment structures
How research gets evaluated: peer review, reproducibility, replication, and attribution
AI in the research workflow

Why Attend
For funders and foundations: what other funders are trying, what the evidence says about it, and a working look at structures that give you more control over how your capital is deployed.
For scientists: how funding decisions are actually made, where new models are heading, and what is changing in how research gets evaluated and credited.
For technologists and research labs: the institutional and funding context that determines whether new tools actually get adopted.
SciCon is invite only, with no cost to attend. Capacity is limited to preserve the quality of the room.
About ResearchHub
ResearchHub is an open-access platform co-founded by Brian Armstrong and Patrick Joyce to accelerate the pace of scientific research. Through a preregistration-based funding model, anyone can directly fund rigorous, reproducible science, with all results published transparently. The platform also operates a peer review marketplace where proposals are reviewed openly and in real time, with reviewers compensated for their expertise via ResearchCoin (RSC). Funding made through the platform is routed through a US 501(c)(3) partner and are tax deductible.
