About the Event

Earlier this summer, the conversation in this community was about the shift itself: AI moving into the center of the CS role, titles quietly changing, and the strange feeling of having built a career on a job description that's being rewritten around you. That part is largely settled. Most of us have recognized that the role is changing.

What's still unresolved is what to do about it.

As AI absorbs the operational layer, the QBR prep, the note-taking, the health-score triage, what's left is the harder part: consulting instincts, technical fluency, and the judgment to know when a confident AI answer is wrong. Those are the skills the market is starting to price. Nobody is handing out a curriculum for them.

So this month we're continuing the theme and honing in on the practical question: which skills are actually worth your next six months, and which ones are quietly becoming table stakes.

On September 10th, we're bringing together CS practitioners at four different points on the ladder, from Senior CSM to VP, for a candid 45-minute panel on the skills that actually matter now at the local Seattle Highspot offices. Then we put the room to work: a 45-minute guided workshop where you audit your own skills against what you just heard, pick one gap, and leave with a plan for the next 30 days.

Panelists

Panelists coming soon!

What We'll Dive Into

  • Who's actually adapting fastest, what they do differently, and whether it's something the rest of the team can copy

  • The consulting skill leaders wish every CSM had, and whether it's something you train for or only hire for

  • How technical a CSM really needs to be in 2026, and where the line sits between a technical CSM and a solutions engineer

  • The smallest technical thing someone from a non-technical background could learn this month that would actually move the needle

  • How to keep your judgment your own when AI hands you a confident answer in five seconds, and what "humans in the loop" looks like day to day

What You'll Take Away

  • A clear read on where your own skills sit across the four areas the panel covers, using a self-assessment you'll work through live in the room

  • One specific skill gap chosen, with a 30-day plan attached to it before you leave

  • Concrete examples from CS practitioners at four different levels, not just from a leadership perspective

  • Being deliberate about where you focus your energy, instead of feeling reactive

  • Connections with a room full of Seattle post-sales women who are working through the same shift

Who This Is For

This event is deliberately built for individual contributors and the managers closest to them.

  • CSMs and Senior ICs who want to build the technical fluency and strategic instincts the role now demands

  • Technical Account Managers and Solutions-adjacent post-sales folks navigating where their scope ends

  • Managers and leaders coaching a team through the same shift

  • Anyone in post-sales who's curious about AI but isn't sure where to start applying it to their own work

This event is part of the Women of Customer Success community, built for women working in tech and post-sales. If that's you, we'd love to have you in the room.
