Our November book of the month is A Bigger Life by Louise O'Neill, and we are SO excited to chat about this one !!!
You might know Louise from her bestselling novel Asking for It, but her newest release is something a little different. Part memoir, part manifesto, A Bigger Life is a book I've been recommending to every woman I know, no matter what stage in life they are at. I personally wish this book existed 2 years ago !!!!!!
Our Commit-titty member Laura (@bookish_belfast) has also declared it one of their FAVOURITE reads of 2026, which is a big big claim.
Reading this book feels like getting advice from a big sister who's been through it all. Louise is so refreshingly honest about her experiences, the mistakes she's made and everything she's learnt along the way. There is SO much to unpack in this book and we already know the discussion is going to be a good one.
And because we love a wee activity at bookclub, we've decided to squeeze TWO crafts into our November meet-up, it's gonna be WHOLESOME AF !!!!!
✂️ 2027 Vision Boards & Bucket Lists
Taking a little inspiration from our book of the month, we're going to spend some time thinking about what we want our own BIGGER LIVES to look like in 2027!
Why wait until January to start making plans for the new year ??!?!?!?!?!
We'll be making our own vision boards and bucket lists, whether that's places you want to visit, things you want to achieve, new hobbies you want to try or just a few things you'd like to do more of next year.
We'll have all the basic supplies ready for you, but if you have any particular photos, magazine clippings or artwork you'd like to include, bring them along!
🦪 DIY Oyster Shell Jewellery Holders
We're also going to be making our own oyster shell jewellery holders!
We'll be decorating oyster shells to make gorgeous little trinket dishes for your rings and jewellery. Perfect for your bedside table or as a wee handmade gift for someone.
We'll provide all the materials and you don't need to have a crafty bone in your body to take part!
