Climate councils: Turning evidence into action
Join the International Climate Councils Network for the launch of its first Annual Report.
Amidst rising levels of mis- and disinformation globally, climate councils are needed now more than ever. Drawing on case studies from across the International Climate Councils Network, our first-ever Annual Report affirms the critical role that councils play in translating knowledge and data into actionable recommendations for policymakers.
From decarbonising energy systems and infrastructure, to strengthening climate considerations in public procurement, and supporting the mobilisation of essential climate finance, the report uses real-life examples to show how climate council advice has empowered governments to confidently and rapidly implement evidence-based policies. '
In this session, panellists will share reflections from their own countries on the importance of independent expert climate policy advice and strong climate governance.
The report launch will be followed with a light lunch, courtesy of the Swedish Climate Policy Council.
