Web3 Forum: RWA tokenization
For years tokenization was always about the future: one day stocks, funds and real-world assets would live onchain. That day quietly arrived. Stocks now trade as tokens around the clock, and the interesting question has changed: what exactly did we put onchain, and what do you really hold when you buy it?
As Rome fills up with builders for ETHRome, Urbe Hub hosts an open discussion on real-world assets and the rails they run on. Robinhood built an entire chain for its stock tokens; Coinbase answered with tokenized stocks issued natively on Base, backed one-to-one and built on B20, a new standard designed for tokenized finance. Institutions have largely settled on compliance-first standards like ERC-3643, while newer proposals like ERC-7943 push for a common baseline. And with ATPs, the Automated Token Portfolios just launched by Bitwise with Coinbase and Glider, the ETF gets unbundled: a manager sets the weights, the tokens stay in your own wallet, and the rebalancing runs on its own.
Behind each of these sits the same set of questions. Ownership and rights. Standards and composability. Liquidity that is real versus liquidity on a slide. Markets that never close, and portfolios that manage themselves.
We won't stop at theory. We'll open the explorers and look at what is actually moving on Robinhood Chain and Base, and at what an ATP does inside a real wallet.
