FABIEN DETTORI - vernissage
Opening Night — FABIEN DETTORI: REMAINS
On Thursday, September 10, from 6 PM, GH36 will open REMAINS, Fabien Dettori’s tenth exhibition in Berlin, presented during the 15th anniversary of Berlin Art Week.
Curated by Mario Bermel, who organized Dettori’s first exhibition in Germany, REMAINS brings together a new body of works created specifically for Berlin alongside selected pieces recently presented in Venice during the Biennale.
Moving between still life and intimate portraiture, the exhibition explores memory, fragility, presence and transformation. Dettori’s practice begins with photography and an authentic moment, before moving beyond documentation through painting, pigment, varnish, gold leaf and material intervention.
Drawing on the legacy of the great masters while developing a distinctly contemporary language, the works inhabit the space between image and memory, between what is visible and what remains after transformation.
The opening night will mark the beginning of four days of exhibitions, artist talks, performances and special events at GH36.
