“A beginner’s mind” is highlighted as key to excelling at our jobs as designers and creatives, but what exactly is it, and how do we tap into it?

Researchers show what every parent knows: children have endlessly elastic brains, curious and explorative. A child comes up with multiple innovations in a typical day because they can combine typical objects in never-before-seen permutations and combinations to solve problems they encounter. Together, we will answer these three questions:

  1. What can we learn from neuroscience about how children see the world?

  2. How might we – even temporarily – transcend our grown-up boxes to harness our beginner’s mind?

  3. How can we tap into our collective creative intelligence using Miro?

🎁 KEY TAKE-AWAYS

  • Walk away with a concrete definition of Creativity

  • Learn about the Explore-Exploit tradeoff, why humans tend to be in exploit mode, and how that harms creativity

  • Practical exercises proven to help your workshop attendees “think outside the box” and be more creative
