Personal branding for healthcare professionals
How to get found in health tech β€” before you ever apply.

β€‹πŸ—“οΈ Wednesday, September 30 Β· 1:00-2:00 PM ET Β· Live on Zoom

Some of the most interesting roles in health tech were never posted anywhere. They got created after a conversation.

This hour is the one skill behind that: getting in front of a small company near you, finding out what they're struggling with, and writing the case for you being the one to fix it.

β€‹πŸš— Start with the companies you could drive to

Small health tech companies, device makers and clinical startups near you are the easiest rooms to get into. You're not asking for a job. You're asking what's hard right now. And if they already have a clinician on staff, a short meeting is usually a quick yes. Clinicians take meetings with clinicians.

We'll cover how to find them and what to send.

β€‹πŸ”Ž Find the gap you can close

Somewhere in that conversation is a problem you can see because of your clinical training and they can't. That's your opening. We'll go through what to listen for, and how to tell a real problem from a complaint.

β€‹βœοΈ Write the business case

One page: the problem, what it's costing them, what you'd build, and what your first 90 days look like.

Practice this even if that company never hires you. Health tech hires builders, and the people hiring want to see what you've built or how you'd go about building it. Writing the case a few times is how you get natural at talking that way, and how you learn your own worth.

Once you know what you're good at and what you can deliver on, you're more than halfway through any job search. That goes double for the roles that get created for one person and never make it to a job board, which are my favorite kind.

β€‹βœ… What you'll leave with

How to compile a short list of companies near you worth contacting, built during the session.

The outreach message Jamie uses to get a first meeting.

A one-page business case template.

β€‹πŸ“ A few things to know before you RSVP

This is a practical workshop, not a motivational webinar. Expect specifics.

There's a replay, but come live if you can. The Q&A is where the personalized help happens.

β€‹πŸŽ™οΈ Your speaker: Jamie Wilkey, PharmD

Jamie is a pharmacist who has gotten health tech work by several times by proposing it instead of applying for it: finding a company's problem, writing the case for solving it, and bringing that to the meeting instead of a rΓ©sumΓ©.. She publishes her clinical and build work to an audience of 40,000+ healthcare professionals on LinkedIn and with her newsletter, and her favorite roles are the ones that didn't exist until she made the case for them.
