Make It 'Til You Make It

​A night of work in progress from designers deep in the messy middle of making new toys, tools, products, and services.

Nobody fakes it here. At SVA MFA ixD, we believe the most exciting part of design is the messy middle: the half-working prototype, the pivot, the question you haven’t answered yet. Make It ’Til You Make IT puts that middle on stage!

​A curated group of designers will each take 10 minutes to show something they are still figuring out: a toy, a tool, a product, a service. No case studies, no highlight reels. Just real work, in progress, from people who never stopped making.

​We also hold 2-3 open slots for anyone in the audience to present their own work in progress. Presenter slots are first-come, first-served in person sign-ups on the night of the event (sign up sheet opens at 6:30!). After the share-outs, the floor opens up for mingling, trading ideas, and chatting with presenters and each other about what you’re working on. Feel free to bring works in process to show even if you aren’t presenting! Come get unstuck, get inspired, and find your people.
