Codex Community Hackathon - Tel Aviv
Video Intelligence: Build Beyond the Play Button
This is a community-organised event, not an official OpenAI event.
What could you build if software could understand what’s happening in a video?
Join the Israel Codex community for four days of building with Codex, focused on video and computer vision. Turn an idea into a working prototype that helps people understand, search, edit, or make better use of video.
The challenge
Build something useful around video, using Codex as part of your development workflow. You could explore:
Object detection and tracking: identify objects and follow them across frames.
Video search: find a specific moment, action, or scene without watching the entire recording.
Summaries and highlights: turn long videos into concise recaps or key moments.
Video analytics: extract useful patterns from sports, nature, or other footage.
Accessibility: create captions, descriptions, or tools that make video easier to understand.
Creative tools: experiment with editing, storytelling, or entirely new video experiences.
Or bring your own idea!
Builder credits
Each eligible builder who checks in will receive $100 in Codex credits + $50 in OpenAI API credits to help bring their project to life. Redemption instructions will be shared with participants. Promotion eligibility and terms apply.
First-place prize
🏆 The winning team will receive $1,000 in OpenAI API credits, plus three months of ChatGPT Pro for each approved team member, to keep building after the hackathon.
