Climate Break (LIVE)
Join Us for a Live Recording of Climate Break at KALW!
The planet is on fire — sometimes literally. But inside a radio studio in San Francisco, something else is happening: people are actually doing something about it.
Climate Break comes to KALW for a live episode taping, and you're invited into the room. Host Ethan Elkind will sit down with climate innovators, scientists, and the quietly determined individuals who are rewriting what's possible — from the rooftops of Oakland to the policy halls of Sacramento and beyond. This isn't doom-scrolling. This is the other story: the one that doesn't make the front page, but probably should.
Expect sharp conversation, real solutions, and a reminder that the race to a livable future is already underway. Come be part of it.

Ethan Elkind (Host) is Director of the Climate Program at UC Berkeley's Center for Law, Energy & the Environment (CLEE) and host of Climate Break, a production of Project Climate at UC Berkeley in partnership with KALW 91.7 FM. He is the author of Railtown and a leading voice on California climate policy, transportation, and energy law. Every week, in under two minutes, he finds the people moving the needle — then gets out of their way and lets them talk.
Attorney General Rob Bonta (Guest)is running for re-election to protect our freedoms, defend our democracy, and stand up to abuse of power wherever it appears.
The fight is far from over — he's standing up to stop unlawful power grabs by the federal government, defend our immigrant communities, protect reproductive freedom, hold greedy corporations accountable, keep our communities safe from gun violence and fentanyl trafficking, safeguard our environment, and so much more.
