Frontier Robotics Happy Hour | Armnet x SoTA

AI is moving to the physical world through advances in robotics 🤖

Join Armnet and the Society for Technological Advancement (SoTA) for an evening of drinks and conversation on the next frontier of AI: the physical world.

What happens when AI agents leave the data centre and start taking actions in the physical world? What benefits will abundant intelligent robots bring to healthcare, manufacturing, hospitality, scientific research, and many other industries? What safeguards, laws, and regulations need to be developed to ensure the safe and fair deployment of robots that benefits everyone in society?

How will automated wet labs accelerate scientific discovery? Can the next generation of surgical robots eliminate waiting lists on the NHS? How will robotaxis impact traffic and commuting to work? Can AI-powered industrial automation bring back manufacturing to the UK? And what is the role of humans in a world where robots are capable of completing the vast majority of jobs?

There's so much to discuss, and only so much time! Calling roboticists, scientists, hardware builders, tinkerers, philosophers, and anyone interested in robots and their societal impact. We'll bring the drinks and snacks, you bring the ideas, hot takes, and conversation starters!

This event is part of the AI for Science Summit 2026, hosted by Armnet and SoTA.

Armnet builds and operates a cloud-base robot arm farm to accelerate the development of Physical AI models.

SoTA (the Society for Technological Advancement) is the cross-disciplinary community for Britain's most promising researchers, scientists, engineers and technologists. We identify and aggregate exceptional talent early in their trajectories, and cultivate optimism about technoscientific progress.
