The ICML Chess Club: Blitz, Bullet, & Over-the-Board Networking - COEX Room 300

​Step away from gradient descent and test your real-time adversarial strategies over the board!

​The ICML Chess Club is a casual, participant-led social designed for chess enthusiasts of all skill levels to unwind, play some friendly matches, and network on Day 1 of the conference. Whether you want to grind casual blitz/bullet rotations or just mingle with fellow researchers over a shared hobby, you're welcome here.

​♟️ BRING YOUR OWN GEAR: While we will provide a selection of tournament sets, space will depend on board availability. If you are traveling with a portable chess set or a chess clock app, please bring it along!

​🍻 AFTER-HOURS: Because venue rules give us a hard stop at 9:00 PM, a group of us will be heading out to a nearby pub/cafe right after the session to keep the casual games and conversations going.

​⚠️ IMPORTANT ADMISSION POLICY: Per ICML guidelines, a conference badge is strictly required to enter the room. Because this social takes place on Monday evening, all attendees must be registered for Monday's tutorials.
