Hack for Humanity: Portland, Oregon
Saturday, October 24, 2026, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM PT
The AI Collective Portland presents Hack for Humanity, part of a global civic hackathon running across 120+ chapters in 50+ countries this fall.
Spend a Saturday building with Google Gemini to take on meaningful human and community challenges. This event continues the Humans in AI Week conversations from this summer, where communities named the problems that matter most to them. Every project should create impact close to home, with the purpose of benefiting humanity.
Local action, global impact
We're gathering here in Portland, to act locally and think globally by building alongside partners and communities around the world. What you make on Saturday in Octber can serve your neighbors and reach a town thousands of miles away. That connection is the heart of this event.
Pick your lane
Every team chooses to build locally or globally focused on a very specific use case!
The Solution:
Transparency dashboard: A public dashboard that shows how funds and project phases are moving for a Portland nonprofit or relief work in Colombia.
Who should come: Engineers, designers, PMs, researchers and curious beginners. No team we'll help you find one.
Why Pijao | Columbia relief
Inspired by our partners rebuilding after the earthquake in Pijao, Colombia. Working with Espejo de Agua, our nonprofit partner, and Esto es Quindío, two of today's lanes build tools the Pijao community needs to recover: a way to count who needs help, and a way to map the damaged land. Everything built here stays open for them to use.
Provided: Food and drinks throughout the day.
Recognition: Winning projects may be featured in The AI Collective newsletter, reaching 300,000+ subscribers.
