Builders Club

Women’s Hackathon

Come and build something with us! The University of Birmingham’s Women in Tech (@uobwomenintech), Women in Science and Engineering (@wiseatuob), AI Society (@uobaisociety) and Builders Club (@buildersclubuob) are teaming up for a special-edition, women-only hackathon.

If you like making things like apps, games, bots, websites, or that half-finished side project you keep meaning to get back to, this is your excuse to finally build it. It’s also a great chance to meet other makers and find people to build with.

Never been to a hackathon? Perfect.
You don’t need any experience. Just show up and give it a go. If you’d like a head start, WiT and AI Society are running a prep workshop on Monday 9th November to help you get comfortable with the tools and teamwork you’ll need to go from an idea to a working prototype.

What’s happening on the night

• A theme reveal to get the ideas flowing

• A few hours to brainstorm and build a prototype with your team

• Quick pitches to the room at the end

Teams
We encourage working in teams. Bring your friends, or come solo and find a team on the night.
