About Event

简·赫斯菲尔德(Jane Hirshfield),在美国和世界上享有广泛声誉的诗人、散文家、翻译家。适逢诗人于5月20日来纽约参加美国文学和艺术学院(American Academy of Arts & Letters)的颁奖活动并领奖,“子午线国际诗歌项目”和重音社合作,将于2026年5月21日下午4点—6点在重音社书店举办简·赫斯菲尔德诗歌分享和对话会,向这位在中国也出版过多种诗歌和随笔作品并深受中国诗人和读者欢迎的诗人致敬。在活动现场,我们将有幸聆听简·赫斯菲尔德读诗和谈诗,著名诗人王家新、在美国诗坛受到关注的新锐诗人潘伟嘉(Weijia Pan)、花溪(Hua Xi)以及纽约地区的多位诗人,将以英中双语的形式朗诵简·赫斯菲尔德的诗作,并与简·赫斯菲尔德进行诗歌对话。欢迎诗人和文学、诗歌爱好者们参与。

Jane Hirshfield, a poet, essayist and translator with a wide reputation in the United States and abroad, will be in New York on May 20 to receive the Arts and Letters Award from the American Academy of Arts & letters. In honor of this occasion, the Meridian International Poetry Project and Accent Society are collaborating to host a poetry reading and dialogue with Jane Hirshfield. This event will take place on May 21, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Accent Society Bookstore, celebrating a poet whose diverse body of work—including collections of poetry and essays published in China—has garnered deep admiration among Chinese poets and readers alike. At the event, we will listen to Jane Hirshfield read her poems and discuss elements of craft. Renowned poet Wang Jiaxin, acclaimed emerging poets Pan Weijia and Hua Xi, and several other poets from the New York area will perform bilingual readings (in English and Chinese) of Jane Hirshfield’s poems and engage in a dialogue with the poet.

简·赫斯菲尔德/Jane Hirshfield:

简·赫斯菲尔德(Jane Hirshfield),在美国和世界上有着广泛影响的诗人、散文家、翻译家。1953年生于纽约,毕业于普林斯顿大学,毕业前发表诗作并获奖。1974年起在旧金山修习禅宗多年,现居北加州。著有诗集《阿拉雅》(1982)、《询问:新诗和诗选》(2023)等十余种,诗论随笔集《九重门:进入诗歌的心灵》《十扇窗:伟大的诗歌如何改变世界》。除创作外,简·赫斯菲尔德也从事翻译,并在多个大学教授创造性写作。作品曾入围全美国家书评界图书奖,获全美诗歌中心图书奖、北加州图书奖、美国诗人学院奖、古根海姆与洛克菲勒基金等诸多奖项。2019 年入选美国艺术与科学学院。

简·赫斯菲尔德的诗歌广受赞誉。波兰诗人、诺贝尔文学奖获得者米沃什(Czesław Miłosz)曾称赞简·赫斯菲尔德的诗“满载对众生苦难的深切同情……她诗中丰沛的感性细节,给予我们佛家正念美德之启迪。”美国著名诗人默温(W. S. Merwin)评价简·赫斯菲尔德的诗“像光束一样移动——探索,发现,停下来加以确认。它们拥有中国古典绘画般质朴的手法:只消几笔便勾勒出一幅新的山水,其中蕴含一种你从未见过但会立即认出的生命。”

简·赫斯菲尔德的创作深受禅宗和中国、日本古典诗学的影响,她曾多次访问中国。她在中国出版的诗选有《我只要少许》(史春波译,子午线诗歌译丛,王家新主编,广西师范大学出版社“纯粹”,2025)、诗论集《十扇窗:伟大的诗歌如何改变世界》(杨东伟译,王家新序,广西师范大学出版社,2022),等。她的诗和诗论随笔在中国都受到很大欢迎,《我只要少许》被新京报书评周刊评为年度好书,《十扇窗》出版后已多次再版。

Jane Hirshfield is the author of ten books of poetryand two collections of essays, and has edited and co-translated four books presenting the work of world poets from the deep past. Her honors include fellowships from the Guggenheim and Rockefeller foundations, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Academy of American poets; the Poetry Center Book Award; the California Book Award; and the Donald Hall-Jane Kenyon Prize in American Poetry. Her poems appear in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The New York Review of Books, The Times Literary Supplement, The Washington Post, The New York Times, New Republic, Harper’s, andPoetry, and have been selected for ten editions of The Best American Poetry. A resident of Northern California, she is an elected member of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences and a former chancellor of the Academy of American Poets.

王家新/Wang Jiaxin:

 王家新,诗人、批评家、译者,中国人民大学文学院教授。著有诗集、诗论随笔集和译诗集四十多种,曾获多种国内外诗歌奖、诗学批评奖和翻译奖,作品被翻译成多种文字,出版有多种德译诗选、克罗地亚文诗选、荷兰文诗选和英译诗选。近年来退休后主要旅居于纽约,先后应邀在美国、加拿大和欧洲一些大学、文学节、文学机构讲学、朗诵和做驻留诗人,作品在《美国诗歌评论》《肯庸评论》《美国诗人》《华盛顿广场评论》《霍普金斯评论》等十多种美国杂志上发表。他的第二部英译诗选《与此同时》(At the Same Time)2025年秋出版后,被美国《今日世界文学》评选为2025年最值得关注的75部翻译作品之一,并入围美国笔会2026年翻译诗歌奖。他的最新诗选《旁注之诗:2016-2015》最近由江苏凤凰文艺出版社出版。

Wang Jiaxin is a Chinese poet, essayist, translator, and professor at Renmin University of China. He is the author of over forty volumes of poetry, essays and translations. His work has had an important influence on Chinese poetry and has been translated into many languages. In recent years, following his retirement, he has primarily resided in New York. He has been invited to lecture, give readings, and serve as poet-in-residence at numerous universities, poetry festivals, and literaryinstitutions across the United States, Canada, and Europe. His work has appeared in more than a dozen American journals, including the The American Poetry Review,American Poets, The Kenyon Review, Washington Square Review and The Hopkins Review. His second collection of poems in English, At the Same Time (Arrowsmith, 2025), was selected by World Literature Today as one of the 75 notable translations of 2025 and was longlisted for the 2026 PEN Award for Poetry in Translation. His latest poetry collection, Marginalia: 2016–2025, was published by Phoenix Literature and Art Publishing House in China.

潘伟嘉/Weijia Pan:

潘伟嘉(Weijia Pan),诗人,译者,著有诗集《故乡》(Milkweed Editions,2024),该书被路易丝·格丽克选为 2023 年马克斯·里特沃诗歌奖的候选作品,并获 2025 年莱维斯阅读奖。他来自上海,用英文写作,其作品曾发表于美国诗歌学会的“每日诗歌”、AGNI、《辛辛那提评论》、《乔治亚评论》、Poetry Daily 等刊物。他近期获得美国文学艺术院2026 年本杰明·H·丹克斯奖,目前为斯坦福大学华莱士·施特格纳奖助金驻留诗人。

Weijia Pan(潘伟嘉)is the author of Motherlands(Milkweed Editions, 2024), selected by Louise Glück for the 2023 Max Ritvo Poetry Prize and winner of the 2025 Levis Reading Prize. A poet and translator from Shanghai, China, his poems have appeared in the Academy of American Poets’Poem-a-Day, AGNI, Boulevard, The Cincinnati Review, The Georgia Review, Poetry Daily, and elsewhere. He is the recipient of the 2026 Benjamin H. Danks Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and is currently a Stegner Fellow at Stanford University.

花溪/Hua Xi:

花溪(Hua Xi),诗人,艺术家。她的诗作曾发表于《纽约客》、《巴黎评论》、《国家》和《新共和》等刊物。除了获得斯坦福大学2023-2025年度华莱士·斯特格纳驻留诗人奖助金外,花溪获得过沃尔特·惠特曼故居协会颁发的2022年度奖助金、2023年美国国家艺术基金会创造性写作奖金、2023年伊万·博兰奖和2025年牛津诗歌奖。

Hua Xi(花溪)is a poet and artist. Her poems have appeared in The New Yorker, Paris Review, The Nation, and The New Republic, among other publications. In addition to receiving a 2023–25 Wallace Stegner Fellowship at Stanford University, Xi was the recipient of both a 2023 Creative Writing Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, the 2023 Eavan Boland Award, and the 2025 Oxford Poetry Prize.
