Nadhi Delhi NCR - Sustainable City Series - Built Environment (Edition 1)
We live in a concrete jungle. And we're adding more every day.
Can we design cities that don't cook us alive?
India is urbanizing at a scale and speed the world has never seen. The buildings going up today , their materials, orientation, energy systems , will determine whether those cities remain livable or become heat traps.
What We're Examining
This first edition of the Sustainable City Series starts with a grounded, interdisciplinary conversation about what sustainability in the built environment should actually mean.
We'll explore:
→ The gap between intent and implementation. Why do sustainable design principles often fail to translate from policy to practice?
→ Climate-responsive design vs. certification-driven design. Are we optimizing for the right outcomes?
→ Traditional knowledge systems and passive strategies. What can centuries-old climate-responsive architecture teach us about building in extreme heat?
→ Scalability in rapid urbanization. How do we implement meaningful solutions when cities are growing faster than infrastructure can keep up?
→ The physics of buildings. How do material choices, building science, and systems thinking intersect with climate reality?

Nadhi is building a movement, powered by women+,to make climate action inclusive, imaginative, and unstoppable.
About Nadhi Events (Online & Offline)
Nadhi designs small, intentional sessions for women+ working across climate, sustainability and related fields.
Our programming focuses on three outcomes: building practical capacity, strengthening professional networks and supporting long-term career pathways in climate.
Sessions are designed to be participatory and grounded in real work ,bringing together practitioners, founders and policy or program professionals to exchange perspectives, test ideas, and build relationships that extend beyond the room.
Nadhi’s work spans sustainability, policy, finance, technology, and culture, recognising that climate action is shaped as much by systems and decisions as by solutions.
