About Event

Join Permaculture Designer Laura Odell for an indoor Intro & Design presentation on suburban organic, edible landscaping. Afterwards, she invites you to a quick tour and HANDS-ON raised bed installation of the suburban site featured in the presentation. The installation will be a combination of hugelkultur and sheet mulching to create raised beds. We will take advantage of the abundant natural materials that are available at this time of year. You will leave this workshop with confidence to start your own edible garden!

During the presentation, Laura will share site assessment strategies and all the tips and tricks she has gained over 16+ years to make starting your own garden as quick and easy as possible.

The presentation part of the workshop will be held indoors. Restrooms and water fountains are available. The second part will be outdoors, as we will briefly tour two example gardens and the site of a future edible landscape.

For the outdoor portion, Attendees should dress appropriately for the weather, wear closed-toed shoes/boots, and bring their own gloves, a snack, and a bottle for water.
